Preparing for a Waxing Appointment
Waxing shall have your skin looking great. It also happens to be something that not many people look forward to experiencing. It does not matter how you have it done, waxing shall deliver that sting like clockwork. People come with differing pain thresholds, which leaves us all going through pain at different intensities. Seeing as you have to keep your waxing appointment, there are a few ways through which you can prepare yourself for it.
You can go with some pain medication. A pain killer is what shall take the sting out of the waxing for you to persevere. You only need to take it as guided by the instructions.
You need to also wax at the right time of the month. Ladies need to avoid waxing around their periods, since everything down there is more sensitive then. You need to make sure it is not less than a week before the periods.
You also need to keep a regular waxing schedule. The more you wax, the more you interfere with the hair growth pattern. Over time, you will notice hair in your pubic region thinning. You will thus have to wax less often, and also it shall be less painful. You will notice that as you wax regularly, the hair shall not be too tall at those times. Tall hair means you will feel more pain. You can beat that by waxing when it is still short.
It is also important for you to get ready mentally for the sessions. You need to eliminate from your mind the feelings of tension and anxiety before you begin. If you were to go in while you are tense and scared, you would find that the pain feels more magnified than it ought to be. When you relax and remain calm, the session will not be as painful as you had feared before. You can, for example, go for the session over the weekend. They are more relaxed and with no rush. You can even take in the soothing ambiance of a spa. You can also get into the right frame of mind through a massage before the waxing session, to prepare the body.
There are also skin numbing creams you can use when you feel the pain will be too much. They shall numb your skin completely, which shall make it hard to feel any pain. They have to be given by a doctor through prescription. They also work well for those with sensitive skin, where most of the pain shall be after the session. An alternative to such a cream is a cold compress, or a post-wax treatment. Those shall keep skin irritation to a minimum.
Once you manage to deal with the momentary pain of waxing, you shall enjoy great looking and feeling skin for a long time.
